Annstead Dunes (Site A) near Seahouses
The sand dunes that define much of Northumberland’s coast provide a natural and effective protection against the sea. These footpaths lead across the dunes to access the beach beyond. The reserve contains a variety of dune plants including uncommon species such as houndstongue. The scattered trees are a good place to spot some of the birds that breed here or arrive on migration. Exmoor ponies graze on the site, please keep dogs under close control.
