Lilbourne Gorse near Lutterworth

The Lilbourne Gorse permissive footpath provides local walkers with the opportunity to explore a rich environmental landscape mixed with English medieval history. From the village of Catthorpe follow Lilbourne Lane, after 700m it becomes Station Road. When you reach the old railway line, pass through the gate and head east, to your right is a river meadow enriched with fauna then follow the path up to Lilbourne Gorse, to reach the historic Motte and Bailey castle. Stand and take in the spectacular views of south Leicestershire and neighbouring Northamptonshire.
