Flintham Hall near Newark

A circular footpath route linking from an existing public right of way and providing extensive views along the Trent Valley from a steep escarpment 70m above the River Trent. The path passes through grassland that is being managed for its botanical and historic interest. Looking down-slope towards the River Trent the signs of medieval arable cultivation can be seen in the form of ridge and furrow earthworks. The escarpment pasture includes flowers typical of dry grassland including bird’s foot trefoil and harebell.
