Lordenshaws near Rothbury

This area of open access in Northumberland National Park will allow you to explore the ancient historic landscape at Lordenshaws. The area contains a number of historic features, all of which are Scheduled Monuments, including an Iron Age hillfort, pre-historic carved rocks, a medieval deer park wall and field system boundaries and pre-historic cairn cemeteries. There are magnificent views over the Coquet Valley from the hill top. The heather is in bloom in August.
