Country Walk Summary

Careby Road (A) near Stamford

This permissive path provides a circular route adjacent to the village of Careby, with views across the River Glen valley. The stretch of railway where Mallard became the world's fastest steam engine with a spead of 126mph in 1938 can be seen from the walk. Nearby hedges are being sympathetically managed under an environmental stewardship scheme to encourage wildlife. Look out for skylark and lapwing.
