Country Walk Summary

Central Park Farm near Gainsborough

A short circular walk including 0.6 km along the River Trent. In summer you can hear skylarks singing above you and see a range of birds including yellow wagtails, meadow pipits, whitethroats, house sparrows and goldfinch. In autumn or winter you may see snipe near the river. Views across the river can be had walking down from the starting point, and along the bank. A grass field protects the underground remains of a Romano-British pottery kiln site near the parking area. The access may be reached from Knaith along the roadside path.
