The land management centres around an annual cutting regime, designed to create a rough tusocky grass structure and thatch which forms ideal hunting habitat for Owls. This sympathetic land management has been very successful and has resulted in Barn Owls, Long Eared Owls, Short Eared Owls, Tawney Owls and Little Owls, all using the site, other birds can be seen on the site including Snipe, Skylark, Woodcock and Quail
