Manor Farm Near Peterborough
Wasenhoe contains a wealth of historic remains as well as being important for wildlife. The steep sided hill near the church offers commanding views over the Nene Valley. There is archaeological earthwork evidence of ancient settlement and fortification of Medieval, Saxon and possibly earlier origin on the hilltop. A deer park was established hereabouts in the early 13th Century. Other historic remains west of the church include ridge and furrow , a post medieval windmill mound and a range of abandoned quarries.
