Country Walk Summary

New House Farm Near Market Harborough

The grassland on this site has been left unimproved by modern agriculture. Prominent ridge and furrow field patterns, reminders of pre-intensive farming methods remain. These are best seen from the top of the hill, where good views are also possible of the surrounding farmland and the southern edge of Market Harborough. Anthills and several wildflower species, such as Harebells are present within the fields, indicating undisturbed permanent grassland.
