Country Walk Summary

Chiseldon To Coate Waterpark Cycle Path near Chiseldon

The Countryside Stewardship Scheme (CSS) linear access route follows an old railway line and provides an exciting extension to the pre-existing Sustrans/Stewardship cycle path to Marlborough. The new link will enable people of all abilities to travel between Chisledon and Coate Water Country Park in Swindon and on to other footpaths and cycle paths in Swindon. The path has been specially surfaced to enable disabled and cycling access. The path runs through a mixture of fields and woodland and scrub, providing good habitat for birds such as woodpeckers, thrushes, deer and wildflowers such as bluebells and cowslips in the wood. The path has views over the downs to Liddington Hill and the Ridgeway.
