SPRINGFIR ESTATES , Near DESBOROUGH
A permissive footpath has been provided to link existing rights of way over fields containing a remnant ancient leat and pond previously serving Shotwell Mill. The path runs over pasture fields and along grass margins adjacent to arable crops alongside the River Ise. Along with neighbouring Tailby Meadow, a species rich hay meadow, here pasture fields are being managed sympathetically by grazing while hedgerows and ponds are being restored to enhance historic features and wildlife interest on site.
